Location and getting there
The Doge's Palace stands right on the Piazzetta San Marco by the water, the centrepiece of the pass. Vaporetto lines 1, 2, 5.1 and 4.1 all stop nearby; the closest stops are San Zaccaria and Vallaresso (San Marco), a few minutes' walk from the entrance. The other houses are spread across the city. The glass museum is on Murano and the lace museum on Burano, both reachable by vaporetto from Fondamente Nove.
Entry and what to expect
The public entrance to the Doge's Palace is the Porta del Frumento on the Piazzetta San Marco. Before you go in, expect a security check - carrying ID is a good idea. The pass allows one entry per museum and doesn't require a fixed time slot. Opening days vary from house to house, so check ahead of your visit: the museums generally open daily, some with extended summer evening hours, and a few close one day a week. Planning your visit
Allow plenty of time for the Doge's Palace - it's quieter early in the morning and late in the afternoon, once the crowds on St Mark's Square thin out. Large suitcases, trolley bags and bulky luggage (over one metre across the three sides combined) aren't allowed inside; medium-sized bags, backpacks and umbrellas can be left at the free cloakroom. Reduced-price passes are available for children, young people and seniors - the booking page shows the exact eligibility.
